1.0 EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

1. Requires a BSc in Mechatronic, Mechanical design, 3D modeling, physics, materials science or an engineering discipline.
2. A Minimum of 3+ years’ experience: 3D design & Rapid prototyping, industrial R&D in latex goods, rubber, or plastics manufacturing.
3. New product development experience.
4. Experience in working in a manufacturing environment.
5. Oral and written communication skills in English.
6. Professional interaction with others.
7. Can provide creative, workable engineering solutions.
8. Working knowledge of Stage Gate or Project Management/PMP principles.
9. Working knowledge of Smartsheet for project tracking.
10. Working knowledge of C++, APP android and Arduino, and other programming languages.
11. Computer proficient in Solid Works or any other 3D package.
12. Creative problem solving and resourcefulness.

4.0 GENERAL FUNCTIONS

The R&D Engineer develops, analyzes, experiments, conducts investigations, presents mechanical designs and has the programming knowledge for different platforms in favor of the rapid prototyping and Robotic program in R&D México. This position will manage and coordinate assigned NPD, PPM and R&D projects to develop products and technologies that meet or exceed customer needs within the GBU.

This position will lead or support new product commercialization and launch efforts including testing and evaluation, development, procurement, scale up and start-up of new products and processes. The R&D Engineer will work very closely with R&D Managers, other Engineers, Specialists, and Interns as well as a variety of cross-functional team members, Ansell manufacturing facilities, suppliers and strategic external partners.

The responsibilities for this position are centered on 3 key areas of focus: “Excellence, Expediency, Execution”

1. Support the development projects of Engineers, Managers, Directors, and Specialists.
2. Coordinate cross-functional new product development teams aligned with NPD initiatives.
3. Provide general oversight, maintenance and housekeeping for R&D assets.
4. Comply with site safety regulations.
5. Act as Project Manager or Project Technical lead for IGBU R&D projects as assigned.
6. Assist in the identification and evaluation of technologies with application to support product development and research initiatives across GBU verticals.
7. Assist in fabrication and/or procurement of molds and product prototypes through outside vendors.

2. Uses of technology equipment, 3D Printer, 3D Scanner and haptic devices.
3. Plan trials with local operations management.
4. Optimize prototypes and materials/process developments for the local conditions.
