Job Summary:
Assists in the design, development, testing and manufacturing of electronic systems and other components for use within equipment or machinery. Assist with import/export inquiries.

What the candidate will do:

1. Supporting internal and external manufacturing facilities that manufacture or install electronic systems and components.
2. Oversee compliance and development processes with respect to regulations for electrical and electronic systems and components.
3. Support Mexican NOM certification activities for CAT Electronics design controlled parts or kits.
4. Collaborate with process partners for Mexican NOM certifications.
5. Become the Mexican NOM SME and clarify what technologies are regulated (i.e., do not rely on HS codes to determine scope).
6. Coordinate 3rd Party certification activities with support of engineering design controls.
7. Create and/or finalize decision trees for most pertinent NOMs (NOM-001, NOM-019, for example).

Education requirement:
Electrical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering Degree or bachelor’s degree in environmental science, chemistry or any related degree.
Advanced English-speaking level.

• Makes oral presentations and writes reports needed for own work.
• Lead weekly meetings with internal clients.
• Keep notes and action items and communicate them after meetings.
• Maintain a good relationship with internal clients and external suppliers.
• Listens to feedback without defensiveness and uses it for own communication effectiveness.
• Meet with regulation subject matter experts regularly and communicate information to internal clients.
• Help others learn tools use to track process progress.
• Communicate to managers business cases for new processes and their benefits.

Technical Excellence:

• Understand technical differences between different electrical products to apply regulations accordingly.
• Reach to subject matter experts in regulations, within the company, to answer technical questions or solve problems.
• Basic process knowledge of tools and techniques for existing and new processes.
• Optimize existing business processes.
• Makes business case for new processes, including cost-benefit ratios.

Electronics Engineering - HTH:

• Knowledge in Design, Development, and Production of electrical and electronic components.
• Knowledge in regulations of electrical and electronic components for Mexico.

What the ideal candidate will have:

• Six sigma/black belt training.
• New product introduction understanding.

Additional information:

This position will be located in Santa María.

The work schedule is set for Monday-Friday 7am-4pm.

Domestic relocation is available.

Traveling International/Domestic at 15%.
