Claims Hub Specialist
Location: Mexico
The Claims Specialist will be responsible for the evaluation/handling of complex insurance and reinsurance claims within AXA XL’s Global Program Latam HUB division, including, but not limited to General Property, Marine, Energy, Construction and Liability losses. The Claims Specialist will manage and resolve AXA XL's claims as part of the Claims team. Close collaboration with the Manager and fellow Claims Specialists is expected. Collaboration and client excellence service delivery with the Network Partners and international Clients within Latin America countries is highly important. We are looking for someone to drive Claims to resolution along with interacting and collaborating frequently with the Network Partners, Practice Leaders and the Underwriting team. Achieve the best possible outcomes for AXA XL and its clients by resolving and settling claims proactively.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Proactively manage assigned claims above Network Partners’ authority within Latam while working in collaboration with the NP, Master policy handler and UW to set up an adjustment plan for these claims. Ensure all documentation is present in the file, and that Global Program Guidelines and protocols are followed.
- Using technical skills, handle the complex and challenging claims within authority level and specialization. The Claims Specialist main specialization would be Property, Marine and Liability, with other types of business included to balance the workload.
- As claim file owner, collaborate with Network Partner, Practice Leaders and Master policy on large and complex losses to achieve optimum file outcome for the client and AXA XL, determine if / which external vendors to engage, and establish strategic plan with Network Partner, identify Large Losses and ensure all steps are taken to achieve the best outcome for the client and AXA XL (including those claims within authority level).
- Work with management and Claims Legal to identify and select appropriate counsel.
- Lead internal and external meetings with the Network Partners, Brokers or Clients.
- Active participant in Quality review process.
- Manage reinsurance cash calls and reserves setting, understand the treaties shares and cessions.
Major Responsibilities:
- Seek to identify new and improved processes. Embrace short and long-term improvement initiatives, and actively participate to understand and embed any new initiatives.
- Assist Underwriters with policy review and drafting initiatives, participate in external marketing and business development activities. Share lessons learned and other identified trends to improve risk assessment and underwriting process.
- Coordinate and manage communication with internal and external stakeholders (e.g., underwriting, brokers, reinsurers, external vendors, etc.) to ensure the highest level of customer service.
- Produce internal reporting in support of best practice and reserving guidelines.
- Identify, monitor and report on emerging liability and coverage trends.
You will report to the Claims Manager – Latam HUB.
Qualifications:
- Extensive experience of 3 to 4 years handling claims to include Property, Construction and Marine; general knowledge on other LOBs preferred.
- Robust knowledge of the insurance and reinsurance industry.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task.
- Possesses a functional and developing knowledge of multi-state legal statutes and procedures.
- Displays a thorough functional knowledge and skill of claims handling specific to assigned area.
- Excellent customer service, interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills.
- Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and make critical business decisions effectively.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite as well as other business-related software.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Must speak English.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Professional Designations preferred.
