Customs Specialist

What awaits you:
- Coordinate all customs-related issues for the production material, non-series material, machinery, and equipment during the ramp-up of the battery production plant.
- Prepare and process all import documentation necessary for the customs broker, managing the complete import process to ensure availability of the products in time at the lowest possible cost.
- Collaborate with different departments within the plant to ensure all import documentation and restrictions are met.
- Track shipments and manage the customs clearance at different ports of entry.
- Communicate status and delays to appropriate parties.
- Resolve shipment issues and escalate to management for resolution when needed.
- Collaborate with the logistics and transportation departments, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and government agencies.
- Ensure that all legal framework and organizational policies are followed.
- Handle all post-entry amendments.
- Calculate required funding to process payments of import duties.
What you should bring along:
- Bachelor's degree in international business, foreign trade logistics, or a related field (e.g., Supply Chain Management, International Relations, Administration).
- 2+ years of previous work experience in import operations and export operations. Automotive industry knowledge is preferred.
- Proficient in English (fluent spoken and written).
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to prioritize tasks.
- Ability to work independently.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of customs documentation and customs processes is needed.
- Teamwork oriented.
- Strong analytical and conceptual skills.
- High result and quality orientation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and preferably relevant ERP (SAP).
- Knowledge in MIC or other Trade Management System is preferred.
