Applications Engineer Americas Mass Market/Distribution – Automotive Processors

We are looking for a highly motivated Applications Engineer (AE) to join our Automotive Processors (AP) Business Line to support Mass Market/Distribution customers in the Americas region. NXP’s products are used by all major Automotive OEMs and suppliers along with select Industrial customers. As an Applications Engineer, you will be a key technical interface between our global R&D organization and our Distributor partners and end customers to enable the successful design-in of NXP’s products.

Your Responsibilities

1. Provide feedback to the Product Marketing, Systems and Design teams on the success of NXP products in the mass market and recommend improvements to hardware, software, and collateral.
2. Develop and deliver technical training to NXP Field Applications Engineers (FAEs), Distributor FAEs, and end customers on new Automotive processors and their associated software and tools.
3. Provide technical support to key customers in the Americas region.
4. Develop demo applications and reference designs to showcase the advantages of NXP products.
5. Develop/contribute to the development of:
1. Hardware, software, and development tool documentation including but not limited to product briefs, out-of-box user guides, and development tool user guides.
2. Testing of software versions, stacks, and operating systems.
3. Example code to enable customer evaluation of processor features.
6. Attend NXP, Distributor, and customer/industry events.

To be successful in this role you should have:

1. Bachelor's or master's degree in Electronic Engineering or a similar discipline.
2. Experience of embedded application software development (>=2 years).
3. Experience of embedded C language programming.
4. An advanced understanding of Microcontrollers and Microprocessors.
5. Advanced English and Spanish communication skills (verbal & written).
6. The ability to travel within the USA, Canada, and Central/South America without restriction.
