About the team

We primarily are accountable for the delivery of AssureID Sentinel and AcuFill software, which are part of GBG’s wider Documents and Biometrics product portfolio.

These SDKs provide sophisticated ID proofing capability for our customers to integrate into their own systems utilizing purpose-built identity document scanners and computer vision and machine learning technologies.

The role

As a Software Engineer in one of our dynamic, multi-disciplinary product squads, you will be instrumental in delivering high-quality software solutions that meet our business objectives.

This role offers the opportunity to apply your technical skills and passion for development to create impactful products while continuously learning and growing in your craft.

You'll collaborate closely with team members, contributing to the success of our projects and supporting a culture of innovation and excellence within the team.

What you will do

1. Assist in the technical design, implementation, and documentation of features and products within the squad's scope, following the guidance of senior team members.
2. Act as an individual contributor, writing and testing code to help the team achieve sprint goals and deliverables while collaborating closely with other engineers.
3. Work within established architectural patterns and practices, ensuring that your contributions align with the overall technical direction set by senior engineers.
4. Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to understand business requirements, translating them into technical tasks and deliverables under the supervision of more experienced engineers.
5. Follow coding standards and best practices, contributing to the team's commitment to technical excellence, performance, and reliability.
6. Engage in agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives, actively contributing to the team’s iterative development and continuous improvement efforts.
7. Identify areas for improvement in the codebase, suggesting minor refactoring opportunities and working with senior engineers to address technical debt.
8. Stay open to feedback and continuously seek opportunities to learn new technologies, tools, and development practices, applying these learnings to your work.
9. Contribute to a collaborative team environment by sharing knowledge, documenting your work, and participating in code reviews to help improve the skills of the entire team.

What We're Looking For

1. Proficiency in software engineering concepts with experience in C#. Familiarity with C++ and Java is a plus.
2. Experience working as an effective contributor within a development team, demonstrating the ability to collaborate with peers, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to achieve common goals.
3. Effective communicator who can articulate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences and who can adapt their style to different situations.
4. A "can-do" attitude, approaching challenges with enthusiasm and a proactive approach to finding solutions and overcoming obstacles.
5. Ability to approach technical problems with a logical mindset, demonstrating the capacity to break down issues and propose workable solutions with some guidance.
6. A focus on delivering reliable and maintainable software, with attention to detail in coding practices and testing.
7. A strong commitment to ongoing professional development, actively seeking out new technologies, tools, and methodologies to enhance skills and keep up with industry trends.
