Description and Requirements

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Ecommerce Payments Specialist to join our dynamic team. As our online business continues to expand, ensuring the smooth onboarding of payment methods and managing associated tasks is critical to our long-term performance and success. The ideal candidate will have experience with project management, vendor relations, ecommerce integrations, and a strong understanding of online payment technologies, processes and requirements. Additionally, this individual will work collaboratively to drive key initiatives, ensuring that business goals are met efficiently and effectively.

Responsibilities:

  1. Project Management: Lead and coordinate the integration of new payment methods, ensuring projects are delivered on time and meet business requirements. Collaborate with stakeholders to develop project plans, track milestones, and manage risks throughout the project lifecycle.
  2. Payment Onboarding: Work with vendors to determine integration requirements for new payment methods and oversee payment method expansion. Ensure that technical teams and external partners are aligned to deliver seamless onboarding.
  3. Vendor Management: Collaborate with payment providers, third-party platforms, and internal teams to manage relationships and ensure successful execution of payment integrations and ongoing operations.
  4. Risk Assessment: Partner with internal stakeholders to evaluate payment processing systems and ecommerce platforms, identifying potential vulnerabilities in business processes. Propose solutions and collaborate on implementing preventative measures.
  5. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with teams including IT, finance, customer support, and legal to ensure alignment on payment solutions and operational strategies, facilitating open communication across departments.
  6. Compliance & Best Practices: Stay current with industry regulations and standards related to ecommerce payment security and processing. Ensure that all systems and processes comply with applicable laws and best practices.
  7. Continuous Improvement: Evaluate payment-related processes on an ongoing basis, identifying opportunities for operational improvements, project efficiencies, and new technology integrations to enhance overall performance.
  8. Stakeholder Education: Lead internal training sessions on new payment solutions, project updates, and best practices to ensure all teams are aligned and informed.
  9. Transaction Monitoring: Work with the analytics team to monitor online transactions, ensuring processes run smoothly and identifying any potential issues. Address and resolve inefficiencies in payment processes as needed.
  10. Data-Driven Insights: Analyze transaction data in collaboration with the analytics organization to derive actionable insights, improving processes related to payment efficiency and customer experience.
  11. Chargeback Management: Collaborate on refining the chargeback process to streamline dispute resolution and minimize financial losses, with a focus on optimizing operations and improving process gaps.
  12. Flexibility: Ability to work across multiple time zones with teams around the world. While this role is based in the Eastern time zone, this will require some flexibility to collaborate with teams around the world.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Finance, or a related field or equivalent experience. Certifications or training in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) are a plus.
  2. Proven experience (8 years combined) in project management and ecommerce payment systems, or related fields. Experience leading cross-functional projects is essential.
  3. Strong understanding of ecommerce platforms, payment processing systems, and online payment methods.
  4. Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., JIRA, Project, etc.) to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  5. Analytical skills to evaluate data, identify trends, and implement improvements in payment operations and systems.
  6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and communicate complex concepts to diverse stakeholders.
  7. Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance standards related to online payments (e.g., PCI DSS, GDPR) is preferred.
  8. Experience interacting with vendors and third-party platforms, with strong relationship-building skills.
  9. Problem-solving mindset, capable of handling challenges and leading initiatives with minimal supervision.
  10. Passion for innovation, staying up to date on emerging trends in ecommerce, payment solutions, and technology.
