Project specialist (LTSCP K3)

We are looking for a Project Specialist who wants to develop a strong and solid career in procurement and project management. The Project Specialist has the opportunity to develop with us his/her career and become a Project Manager, as well as to be certified as a Project Manager Professional (PMP).

As a Project Specialist, you will be leading through project management practices and tools, the evolution of challenging cost reduction ideas, including (but not limited to) LTSCP (Long Term Supply Chain Planning) and COS (Change of Supplier) projects within North American Strategic Projects Team.

The Project Specialist is in charge of establishing for each idea he/she is leading: project benefits, project expenses, total cost of ownership, ensuring technical project feasibility, and consolidating all this information into a formal business case.

The Project Specialist must be an excellent communicator at all levels within the project environment, as he/she will be in charge of presenting recurrently to Senior Managers, Directors, and VPs. He/she needs to be proactive, exhibit strong leadership, be a self-driven person, and be able to adapt to a dynamic and potentially geographically dispersed project environment. The Project Specialist also innovates and brings cost reduction ideas to the pipeline by participating in, preparing, and sometimes leading Productivity Workshop Events within North America's Schneider Electric manufacturing facilities.

The Project Specialist gets a wide range of experience working on several products and several commodities as the scope they manage encompasses all North America's business.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Lead the evolution of LTSCP and Change of Supplier ideas.
2. Ensure accurate estimation of benefits (savings), costs (project expenses), and technical feasibility.
3. Work together with the commodity team to make a correct supplier selection, in alignment with their strategies.
4. Lead the quoting process with a wide range of suppliers on different commodities, for example, Plastics, Sheet Metal, and/or Stampings.
5. Analyze and negotiate part price after receiving quotations.
6. Establish and ensure technical feasibility of the project.
7. Prepare Project Charter and Project Request document.
8. Present the business case for approval and resourcing.
9. Meet idea timing and budget targets.
10. Prepare and participate in productivity workshop events within North America's facilities.

Required Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish – business proficient (written and oral).
• 1-2 years proven experience working in Project Management and/or Procurement and/or Supply Chain.
• Proactive, dynamic, self-driven, able to achieve results via influence and great communication skills.
• Seeks solutions beyond his/her own frame of reference.
• Availability to travel internationally (Valid Passport and USA Visa) – 15%.

Desired Skills:

• Previous experience working in Procurement, Engineering, Manufacturing, or Supply Chain areas.
• Basic knowledge interpretation of engineering specs, drawings, BOM (Bill of Material), cost modeling, inventory volumes.
• Experience handling ambiguity and multiple conflicts to effectively prioritize tasks in a fast-paced work environment.
