Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Manufacturing and Process Development Engineering Teams significantly impact LEANPD driven new product development projects, driving for excellence in existing manufacturing technologies and methods and striving to implement new manufacturing technologies to provide improved process and tolerance control. They act as the binding element between product development and manufacturing engineering, ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of this critical interface. They support Product Development in the optimization of designs and piece parts for manufacturability by realizing sample tooling/products/prototypes. They also design, develop, and qualify tooling and processes to meet TE quality and production standards, document all processes and tooling in applicable TE systems, support supply chain to verify supplier compliance and capability, initiate and implement programs to continuously improve quality, cost and cycle time and adhere to all appropriate specifications, regulatory requirements and customer requirements.

Tasks, Responsibilities and Authority:

1. Responsible for the creation and maintenance of Process Flow Diagram
2. Responsible for the creation and maintenance of SWI
3. Responsible for the creation and maintenance of PFEMA’s with core team
4. Responsible for planning, developing and maintaining Manufacturing Processes (takt time analysis, lean manufacturing, balancing lines, ergonomics & layouts)
5. Responsible for training group leaders and operators in the operation of assembly equipment
6. Responsible for participating in the creation of Control Plan
7. Responsible for reviewing B.O.M.
8. Responsible for managing the support team of the department
9. Responsible for the schedule of his direct reports as well as the performance assessment
10. Responsible for reviewing customer specifications to develop the process
11. Responsible for elaborating capacity and utilization analysis for tooling and machinery
12. Sr – Training of other members of the team when necessary
13. Sr – Responsible for processes of high complexity
14. Sr – Resolve problems with minimum supervision using problem solving methodologies (DMAIC, A3, 8D)
15. Sr – Responsible for managing and coordinating his team members
16. Responsible for quoting new process, tool and machinery
17. Responsible for developing new process for NPI
18. Responsible for working and coordinating the installation, conditioning and validation of new processes for NPI

What Your Background Should Look Like:

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics / Industrial / Manufacturing Engineering

Professional Experience:
At least 5 years in the automotive industry or with similar responsibilities
Strong experience in automated processes/machines
Management of personnel

Specific Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:
Proficient in machine, tool, and fixture design.
Proficient knowledge of MS Office tools such as Excel, Word, Microsoft Project, & Outlook.
Strong Project Management, organizational, written and verbal communication skills.
Must have or be able to obtain a valid Passport. International travel required.
Individual must be a “Team Player” that can work in a fast-paced environment with multiple changing priorities and be a self-starter.
Problem Solving
Fluency in English and Spanish required
Knowledge of IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 standards
Knowledge in Environmental and Safety Procedures.
Knowledge of Safety and Environment Regulations that apply to the company.
Knowledge of the environmental management system and impacts and environmental aspects
