J.P. Morgan Payments Business Transformation, Strategic Execution – Associate
J.P. Morgan Payments Business Transformation is a strategic and execution-focused group. Payments sits at the intersection of finance and technology in an industry undergoing a major transformation.
Business Transformation supports the business on a project basis, where projects are team-based and include regular interaction with J.P. Morgan Payments executives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead project Strategic execution projects, ensuring working organization is in full alignment with project goals and objectives, providing guidance, motivation, and support to project team organization.
- Take an active role in leading conversations, driving the strategic tasking and main requirements from key stakeholders and project participants.
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders and business leads to ensure the successful delivery of projects in full alignment with the bank's priorities and strategic objectives.
- Collect, analyze and report project data, including status updates, milestones completion and key performance indicators (KPIs) from initiatives and projects.
- Prepare project status reports, executive summaries, scorecards, and dashboards for senior management, highlighting risks, watch items, timelines and other metrics as established for the project.
- Coordinate project meetings, workshops, and other related activities, including the preparation of agendas, meeting minutes, and action items.
- Communicate effectively across the organization through frequent verbal and written updates, taking an active part in the conversations and war rooms to trigger actions towards project main objectives accomplishment.
- Manage risks and issues for prompt resolution when and where applicable. Leverage Counterparties, Management Team, and available resources for creative and effective resolution alternatives as mitigations and prevention strategies.
- Conduct and ensure escalations are in place when required and in consistency with resolution seeking.
- Act as an agent of change – early adopter and promoter of such in the organization, driven either by market trends, client necessities or strategic decisions made, after being part of a living and always evolving organization.
Specific capabilities required for the position include:
- Interpersonal, influencing and negotiation skills, including the ability to work with colleagues at all levels in the organization.
- Results driven, strong analytical and end-to-end problem-solving skills. Ability to make informed decisions quickly.
- Structure and build data-driven quantitative and qualitative/conceptual analyses.
- Comfortable navigating in complex organization and projects working environments hand in hand with Cross LOB stakeholders and a diverse group of interest.
- Ability to convey and articulate concise communication, with experience speaking to senior executives and end-to-end organization.
- Proactive mindset in the prevention and drive of challenging scenarios, suggesting concrete actions to achieve progress and provide support towards roadblock removal.
- Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and surrounding environment, with the flexibility to handle unexpected challenges and fast-moving targets.
Qualifications:
- + 7 years internal/external management consulting, working with a diverse nature of Business-related initiatives and projects with a high orientation to Strategic Business Transformation.
- Payments experience preferred; wholesale banking and B2B payments background is a plus.
- Outstanding ability to communicate effectively and confidently (oral and written).
- Problem-solving skills; able to break down and structure problems.
- Project and process management skills.
- PMI – PMP certification and/or Scrum Master certification is a plus.
- Open to an environment of active developmental feedback from peers.
- Excellent command of MS Excel and PowerPoint; familiar with analytical and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, R, SAS, etc.).
- Monday, Jira and other agile tools for project scrum framework is a plus.
- Proficient in English, Portuguese is a plus.
