Company Overview

We’re hiring on behalf of a US-based digital agency that partners with well-known universities and institutions across North America. The agency specializes in higher education marketing, digital strategy, and web development. Their work supports mission-driven institutions — helping them communicate better, improve user experience, and modernize their digital platforms.

This role is part of a long-standing relationship with a major North American university. The Drupal site you’ll be supporting is live and actively used by faculty, students, and staff. The client is currently undergoing a rebranding initiative, and your role will focus on implementing those visual updates, improving the site’s backend structure, and collaborating on cleanup tasks that will enable a smooth migration to WordPress later in the year.

Project Scope

This is a ~9-month fixed-term contract, scoped at around 10 hours per week, with more hours expected in the early stages of the project. You’ll be the primary Drupal developer, working directly with the agency’s internal team (project manager, SEO specialist, designers), and your contributions will be key to the success of the transition.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Implement styling and layout updates using HTML, CSS, and Twig
  2. Clean up templates and content structure for better usability and maintenance
  3. Refactor backend elements using Drupal’s MVC architecture (routing, controllers, theming)
  4. Collaborate with an SEO team to apply redirects, improve metadata, and simplify URL structures
  5. Provide stability and support through the final stages of the project
You Bring

  1. Solid experience developing in Drupal, ideally on live or high-traffic sites
  2. Deep understanding of Drupal’s architecture (MVC)
  3. Proficient in PHP, HTML, CSS, and Twig
  4. Familiar with SEO fundamentals (redirects, metadata, URLs)
  5. Strong communication skills and ability to manage your time independently
Bonus Points

  1. Experience preparing Drupal sites for CMS migration
  2. Prior work with higher education or institutional clients
  3. Comfortable working with content, design, and SEO teams
What’s Offered

  1. Part-time, steady hours — ~10 hours/week
  2. Fixed-term contract — 9 months
  3. Hourly compensation — based on your experience, skill set, and regional market.
  4. Fully remote — work from anywhere in Latin America
  5. Clear ownership — you’ll lead all Drupal-related work, with support from the agency team
  6. ️Low-meeting culture — async collaboration, minimal interruptions
