Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Human Resources to join our global team at our Guadalajara, Mexico headquarters. This leader will collaborate closely with the HR Director in the USA to support our expanding global workforce. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Mexican employment and labor laws, talent acquisition, and talent development. They will play a pivotal role in enhancing HR efficiency, fostering a high-performance, in-office work culture, and supporting management at all levels within a fast-paced, high-growth technology start-up environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Partnership: Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
  2. Data-Driven HR Leadership: Utilize data analytics to inform decision-making and optimize HR processes.
  3. Compensation and Benefits: Maintain and oversee the pay plan and benefits program to ensure competitive compensation packages.
  4. Training and Development: Assess training needs and develop programs to enhance employee skills and performance.
  5. Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the HR team in Mexico, including HR Business Partners, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
  6. Policy Development: Develop and implement HR policies and playbooks that empower business operations and align with organizational goals.
  7. Culture and Engagement: Nurture a positive working environment, maintaining our in-office work culture.
  8. Operational Excellence: Implement HR best practices to support a rapidly growing employee base.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish, with the ability to conduct business transactions in both languages.
  • Proven experience in using HR data analytics and AI solutions (preferred).
  • In-depth knowledge of Mexican employment and labor laws.
  • Demonstrated success in creating and exceeding strategic HR Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, start-up environment.
  • Proven success in designing and implementing scalable HR systems, policies, and programs.
  • Experience with international HR initiatives, particularly in Latin America, and working within a matrixed organization.
  • Experience supporting a Mexican workforce of 200+ employees in hyper-growth mode across multiple locations.
  • Experience implementing AI solutions to streamline HR processes, enhance efficiency, and improve decision-making.
  • Focus on data analytics to drive decisions, monitor trends, and apply emerging technologies and best practices in human resources and talent management to enhance organizational capabilities.
