How will you make an impact in this role?
American Express International Card Services (ICS) is the leading provider of Consumer, Small Business and Corporate Card Programs, Supplier Payments Solutions and other expense management tools. The business programs and solutions help small businesses, mid-size companies and large corporations around the world manage almost all the facets of their business spending. Sales and Account Development Teams manage the relationships with prospects and existing business customers.
The International Field Enablement Team is responsible for driving Sales and Account Development productivity, efficiency, effectiveness and anticipating the need of the sales force. The Team's core components of work include Learning and Development, managing streamlined communication of critical business content to Sales colleagues, assisting with the Governance of Sales Practices, driving Sales Capability enhancements and adoption. The Learning and Development work includes onboarding training for new colleagues, innovative skills-based training programs to enable our Sales and Account Development Teams to provide a best-in-class prospect and customer experience as well as leadership training. As experts in Sales Team needs and go-to-market strategies, International Field Enablement partners across the business on internal go-to-market strategies.
We’re seeking a strategic and passionate Director to drive exponential growth in sales productivity, efficiency, governance and success by leading a team to develop and deliver the learning and development programs, communication, capabilities and sales governance for the LACC and FCS Commercial Sales Teams.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will join a very exciting, collaborative, and highly visible team. They will be responsible for:
- Deeply understanding the strategy and needs of each of the LACC/FCS Sales and Account Development Teams and driving leadership alignment on plans.
- Providing thought leadership on driving growth through Sales training, communications, governance, capabilities and effective go-to-market strategies.
- Partnering with the Japan, APAC and EMEA Field Enablement Teams and Central Training and Capability Teams to develop a training and capabilities Strategy for LACC and FCS Sales/Account Development colleagues.
- Partnering closely with Business Partners including Marketing, Product, Risk, A&SI, Salesforce Technologies, Risk & Control Management and others to understand their key priorities and to ensure that updates are delivered to the Sales organization through an appropriate communication medium with flawless execution across all channels.
- Creating one integrated experience across all LACC/FCS Sales and Account Development teams by delivering timely content and communication.
- Driving OneForce platform innovation and sustainability.
- Tracking the performance of Sales and Account Development colleagues and using the output to recommend learning solutions or instructor-led delivery as appropriate and implementing the program roll-out.
- Driving key performance indicators to inform and drive success, including assessing the effectiveness of training programs and adjusting outcomes.
- Leading the Field Enablement team in LACC to localize and deliver global strategies for relevance and need.
- Coaching and inspiring the LACC/FCS Field Enablement Team including providing guidance on training, communication, compliance and capability strategies and rollouts.
- Occasionally facilitating Executive Training.
- Fostering innovation by understanding and promoting change initiatives that increase Sales productivity, efficiency and compliance.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 8+ years of relevant experience in Strategy, Training, Sales Enablement, Marketing, Sales, Account Development or Change Management.
- Committed people leader with a track record of developing and inspiring teams.
- Outstanding business acumen and strategic perspective.
- Exceptional relationship building experience, including the ability to develop relationships with senior executives and leadership teams across the organization.
- Ability to think creatively, approach sales enablement from new angles, and manage up, down and across the organization.
- Strong problem solving and analysis abilities.
- Strong financial and analytical background.
- Flexibility and resilience to respond to changing requirements of the business.
- Experience working in a global environment/team.
- Experience and knowledge of Learning and Development (preferred, but not essential).
- Strong communication (written and verbal), and proven ability to influence others.
- Presentation skills.
