The Demand & Inventory Control Planner leads and manages the demand and supply function for the country's pharmaceutical operations as part of the Mexico Supply Chain team, including maintaining high levels of customer service, inventory control, management of supply chain related costs, and ensuring high GMP standards for products in the supply chain.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure an adequate and continuous supply of finished products to customers in the country according to their demand in a timely manner, including S&BP, demand/supply planning, local repackaging, launch or transfer processes.
  • Deliver the numbers of the Supply Chain team: customer service level (CSL), customer satisfaction, costs (PCE as part of COGS), working capital (inventory targets for Mexico), write-offs, etc.
  • Provide effective communication within the business community about supply and demand signals and effectively manage demand and inventory during bottlenecks and supply crises.
  • Ensure data quality in line with GMD at local and global level and its implications in master data and that all processes (SOP) are properly documented, followed and reviewed periodically.
  • Challenge, align and apply supply parameter policies within the country based on global and local policies.
  • Manage inventories, ensuring that best practices are followed and adequate trade-offs are made when setting safety stock levels in accordance with company policies and guidelines.
  • Maintain high data integrity standards and support the effective operation of information systems.
  • Participate and support global initiatives such as collaborative planning, direct communications to plant, bottleneck management activities, pruning, product divestment, direct shipments, etc.
  • Manage costs related to the supply chain, ensuring best practices are followed and competitive rates and productivity are maintained.
  • Develop and maintain their own skill sets and those of the department and proactively monitor and predict the market, business environment, quality/regulatory and technical changes and adapt supply models accordingly.

Main requirements:

  • Education: Degree in Business Administration, Economics or Engineering (industrial engineering).
  • Knowledge in quality systems.
  • Knowledge in Laws, regulations, and norms applicable to the Pharmaceutical Industry.
  • Advanced knowledge of the Office package.
  • Handling of SAP R3 and/or 4/HANA system Compliance level of norms, policies, and Best Practices (GMPs).
  • 2 to 3 years in the field of Supply Chain Management or 2 to 3 years in production planning and execution experiencing different managerial levels with different managerial responsibilities preferably in the pharmaceutical industry.
