CNC Programmer and Design Engineer

We are looking for an experienced CNC Programmer engineer with Design Skills to join our innovative, continuously growing company. You can be a member of our brilliant engineering team, contributing to the design of new cutting-edge products. To be successful in this position, you should have hands-on experience using Mastercam and CAD software, with strong attention to detail and a creative flair. It is also important that you have rock-solid project management skills to meet the daily demands of the role.

As a CNC Programmer and Design Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out a variety of engineering tasks, including CNC Programming, Product Manufacturability, Fixture Designing, MFG Routing Creation, Designing, 3D modeling, 2D drawing creation, ENG SPEC researching, and prototyping new products within a Metal-Mechanic manufacturing environment focusing on sheet metal and CNC machined parts for electronics rack enclosures. Excellent teamwork and communication skills with other departments, such as Application Design Engineers and Manufacturing Engineers, are essential.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Create new and improve CNC Programs using Mastercam.
2. Develop MFG process routing for New and Current products.
3. Develop new Fixture Design to implement in the process as required.
4. Generate MFG STD documents, including Tools, Set up Sheets, and MFG Instructions.
5. Create 2D drawings from existing 3D Models.
6. Create adequate 3D Customer Models to our company Standards using CREO.
7. Assess all engineering prototypes to determine issues or risks.
8. Coordinate with other engineers, management, and the prototype department.
9. Improve existing products and find creative design solutions to problems.
10. Collaborate remotely with design engineers in the US and MX.
11. Ensure compliance with the industry’s safety standards.
12. Maintain existing engineering records and designs data in ERP software.
13. Convert legacy drawings and models from one software to another.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

1. Bachelor’s degree in Design Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a relevant field.
2. A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
3. Experience with metal mechanical products (Sheet Metal and Machining process).
4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
5. Accurate and strong attention to detail.
6. Proficient in MS Office and popular design software.
7. Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
8. Able to travel to the USA (Visa required).

DESIRABLE ASPECTS

1. Experience with Welding Design.
2. Experience in 3D printing.
