Job Purpose:
Lead the generation of actionable consumer and market insights to guide business strategy by tracking L’Oréal’s competitive position and performance. This role requires deep market understanding, exceptional analytical skills, including statistical forecasting, and the ability to translate complex data into recommendations.
KEY JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Market Data Analysis: Gather, analyse, and interpret data from various sources, including Nielsen, Iqvia, Circana, or other retail sales data panels, market research studies, consumer trends, and competitive intelligence. Develop market analyses and provide recommendations. This includes applying statistical methods to forecast market trends and potential business impact.
- Database Management: Proven experience managing and analysing large datasets. Advanced Excel skills, including developing and using macros to automate processes and analysis. Proficiency in Power BI for data visualization and reporting.
- Market Research: Design, manage, and execute market research projects, both quantitative and qualitative, in collaboration with external agencies. Oversee questionnaire development, data collection, analysis of results, and report presentation.
- Insights Generation: Transform complex data into relevant business insights. Identify emerging trends, understand consumer needs and motivations, and anticipate market changes. Leverage statistical modelling and forecasting to support insights.
- Insights Communication: Present the results of market analyses and research clearly and concisely to different audiences, including senior management. Develop impactful presentations and reports, utilizing Power BI visualizations, that facilitate decision-making.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely from country to Zone: from Divisions GM to financial Controllers. Share data-driven forecasts and insights to inform business decisions.
- Budget Management: Manage the budget allocated to market research and data analysis activities.
- Agency Liaison: Maintain and develop relationships with market research agencies.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in similar roles, with a focus on market data analysis and consumer insights, including experience with statistical forecasting.
- Proven experience with Nielsen, Iqvia, Circana or other retail sales data panels.
- Advanced Excel skills, including macros. Proficiency in Power BI for data visualization and reporting. Knowledge of other data analysis tools is a plus (e.g., R, Python).
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills, including statistical modelling and forecasting techniques. Ability to interpret complex data and translate it into insights.
- Experience managing market research projects, both quantitative and qualitative.
- Familiarity with questionnaire design and research methodologies.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proactive, results-oriented, and able to work under pressure.
