Chapter Lead & Program Coordinator

Organization Overview:
YPR is a national, peer-led organization that serves youth and young adults in recovery from substance use disorder. YPR aims to improve access to resources such as housing, education and employment that sustain long-term recovery.

YPR’s mission is to provide the life skills and peer support to help people recover from substance use disorder and reach their full potential.

General Responsibilities:
  • All communications from any YPR Employee must be responded to within 24 business hours unless extenuating circumstances regarding schedules are agreed upon in advance between you and your supervisor. This includes text, phone, email, slack, etc.
  • Celebrating large and small victories while also evaluating for bottlenecks and barriers the chapter is experiencing.
  • Comply with all YPR reporting procedures, notably ADP time-tracking, Concur expense reporting, Salesforce/YPR Community, and census reports.
  • Communicate regularly with the supervisor to ensure data collection is executed with fidelity and troubleshoot any problems or challenges.
  • Syncing team members across all chapter projects, including social media marketing, community outreach, communications, finance reporting, and advocacy.
  • Obtain training and certificates as required by the organization and your direct supervisor, including but not limited to DEI and MHFA.
  • Employee will attend all YPR Academies or view the recording of the YPR Academy each month.

Chapter Lead:
  • Complete YPR’s online, interactive orientation and study YPR Leadership Handbook.
  • Employee will be responsible for community outreach tracking and reporting of outreach.
  • Chapter Leads are responsible to bring all Chapter members together, foster an environment where they can learn from each other, and feel they are improving as a skill/domain-focused group.
  • Oversee all contractual Chapter events and operations, including all-recovery meetings, prosocial events, chapter workshops, and advocacy events.
  • Communicate weekly with Chapter Coordinator.
  • Engage in grassroots community outreach via emails, phone calls, and face-to-face meetings.
  • Register Chapter leaders, members, and supporters through the appropriate platforms (YPR Community/YPR website)
  • Secure free or inexpensive venue space for Chapter meetings and events at community centers, libraries, etc.
  • Collaborate with other YPR Chapter Leads for statewide joint events and advocacy efforts.
  • Support and encourage the many pathways of recovery.
  • Employee will utilize RCI and the appropriate chapter-specific keywords at all chapter events and to engage and communicate with participants.
  • Employee will host, at minimum, one virtual National All Recovery Meeting each calendar year.
  • Employee will attend and participate in one monthly All Chapter Call.
  • Employee will attend or view the recording of one All Team/All Staff Meeting each quarter.
  • Employee will utilize social media to promote the chapter and its events, national fundraising campaigns, and initiatives with the support of the marketing team as needed.
  • Employee will host (at minimum) public weekly All Recovery Meetings, quarterly YPR-approved Workshops, and monthly ProSocial Events in accordance with the set grant deliverables.

Program Coordinator:
  • Attend training sessions with the supervisor to become proficient with the YPR program, develop communication and small group leadership skills, and establish best practices for peer support.
  • Facilitate YPR Life Skills Program curriculum modules on a weekly (or otherwise regular) basis. Responsible for set-up and welcoming participants to each session.
  • Prepare for each life-skills curriculum module by reviewing slides, reviewing engagement activities, and reviewing the facilitator guide prior to implementation.
  • Complete all necessary PHI certifications if applicable to program or grant requirements.
  • Utilize RCI for program participant data collection, including Recovery Capital Index surveys.
  • Maintain positive and productive relationships with partner sites by communicating with partner sites' points of contact on a regular basis.
  • Act as primary liaison between life-skills curriculum program and local YPR chapter community; Invite and encourage program participants to engage in chapter activities.

Official Title: Chapter Lead & Program Coordinator

Job Type: Part-Time

Compensation: $20 per hour; 29 hours per week

Experience and Background:
  • Understanding of substance use prevention and recovery
  • Positive and supportive attitude toward all pathways of recovery
  • Sensitivity and awareness of the unique needs and stigmas associated with underserved populations
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills
  • Technology/computer/virtual meeting experience required

Preferred qualifications:
  • Personal experience in recovery
  • Experience working successfully with young adults
  • Experience working successfully with people with substance use disorders
  • Experience working successfully with diverse communities
  • Previous training and certification in trauma-informed response, cultural competency, and peer education
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English)
  • Google Suite experience preferred
