Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Automation Manager located in Tijuana Site.

The Automation Manager role involves the implementation and maintenance of automation systems to improve efficiency, productivity, and quality in the Flex Tijuana Facility. The role typically involves leading automation projects, managing teams, and ensuring seamless integration of automated solutions.

What a typical day looks like:

• Develop and implement automation strategies to optimize new business or existing production processes.
• Lead automation projects from planning to execution, ensuring timely delivery and budget compliance.
• Manage a team of automation mechanical engineers, PLC programmers, electrical engineers, equipment integrators, and technicians.
• Provide expert knowledge of products and automation solutions for the internal and external projects.
• Identify opportunities for process automation in multiple production areas.
• Oversee the design, development, testing, and deployment of automated systems.
• Ensure compliance with medical industry standards (IQ/OQ/PQ) and GMPs company policies.
• Collaborate with IT, engineering, quality, maintenance, and operational teams to integrate automation solutions.
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot automation-related issues.
• Provide training and mentorship to direct reports (Electrical & Mechanical Engineers) as required.
• Stay on top of the latest automation technologies and best practices.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

• BS degree in Engineering electronics, mechanics, mechatronics, or similar.
• Fluent English, written and spoken.
• Knowledge in Automation-Maintenance and Engineering.
• Experience in the Engineering /Automation role.
• Proficiency in PLC (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Omron, Keyence, etc.).
• Experience in vision systems (Keyence, Cognex, and ViDi technology).
• Experience with SolidWorks and electrical controls.
• Strong project management and leadership skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with customers, suppliers, and staff management.
• Experience in the medical industry is desirable.
