Job Description:
Application Engineer – Advanced Materials Division, Mexico City
Collaborate with innovative 3Mers around the world. As Application Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting customers in Mexico through education, engagement, product analysis, and sampling in the division of Advanced Materials. In this role, you will be able to determine opportunities for new applications within the product portfolio and across industries ranging from automotive to energy.
The impact you will make in this role:
- Supporting customers in Mexico through education, engagement, product analysis, and sampling.
- Implementing programs in partnership with global colleagues, including gathering customer insights for new product designs, value proposition data generation, marketing collateral review and communication, etc.
- Determining opportunities for new applications within the product portfolio and across industries ranging from automotive to energy.
Your Skills and Expertise:
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) in chemical engineering, polymer, or materials science, or related field.
- Minimum of three (3) years of customer-facing technical product support in a private, public, government, or military environment.
- Background working in multiple settings involving varying stages of technical development, including laboratory (internal and contract), manufacturing site, customer facilities, and innovation/application centers.
- Current, valid driver’s License.
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Experience working with oil and gas customers, relating value proposition of materials and products for use in a variety of oil field applications.
- Experience working with automotive OEMs and tiers, interacting with design engineers.
- Knowledge of analytical tests for evaluating ceramic materials properties.
- Background working with sales and technical professionals from multiple countries.
