We are presently looking for a Senior Analogue Design Engineer to be located in our Aguascalientes office in Mexico. This role is a great opportunity to join a team which is a leading supplier of laser driver, TIA, and integrated transceiver ICs to the optical communications market. Our products sell in high volumes in fiber to the home (FTTH), wireless backhaul, and datacenter application spaces.

Job Summary

The role of the Analogue Design engineer is to contribute to active projects under supervision, while actively developing the skills and knowledge needed to become a fully established Staff Engineer. This is a period of intensive personal and professional development which will benefit the individual, the wider team, and ultimately the productivity of the company. In addition to delivering quality work in a professional manner, the Analogue Design Engineer should be proactive and have a natural tendency to go the extra mile – in developing new skills, gaining new experience, or pursuing new ideas.

Responsibilities

1. Designs, develops, modifies, verifies and evaluates analog and mixed signal electronic parts, components or integrated circuitry for analog and mixed signal electronic equipment and other hardware systems. Determines design approaches and parameters in collaboration with cross-functional teams. (50%)
2. Conducts circuit simulation and analysis to validate designs. Performs signal integrity analysis and parasitic extraction and analysis to identify and minimize issues that could impact circuit performance (30%)
3. Selects components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability. (10%)
4. Documents design features, test plans, specifications, block diagrams, and schematics (10%)

Minimum Qualifications

1. 3+ years of relevant industry (or post grad) experience in Analogue IC design
2. Good BSc or equivalent degree in Electronic Engineering
3. Fluent spoken and written English
4. Solid understanding and enthusiasm for analogue circuit design

Desired Qualifications

1. Has worked as part of a team on at least 2 IC developments
2. Has taken a cell through the full development process: design, simulation, extraction, verification, formal review.
3. Familiarity with Cadence tools (IC6) and Calibre
4. Basic understanding of circuit layout practice
5. System modelling experience (Verilog-AMS, SystemVerilog, etc)
6. IC Design-specific training or post-graduate qualification
7. RF (1GHz +) circuit design experience
8. Understanding of optoelectronic device physics and behaviour
