Meaningful Work From Day One

This position will be performing accounting functions for both the broader Corporate Accounting and IT teams, as well as other functional areas needing Accounting and Budgeting support. The analyst will ensure the accuracy of Brown-Forman’s financial records and compliance with controls. This position will be vital in tracking budgetary variances, compiling departmental results for project teams’ use, and ensuring expenses are accrued in accordance with GAAP. The analyst will also be responsible for preparing and maintaining IT budgets (as well as other functional area’s budgets as needed).

What You Can Expect

1. Integrity of Financial Records: Responsible for ensuring that Brown-Forman’s financial records are maintained in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and management reporting.
2. Finance/Accounting: This position will serve as a business partner to provide corporate accounting support to IT and other back office departments as needed. Primary duties will include reporting, decision support, budgeting, analysis, and business forecasting for the IT group.
3. Observe, apply and ensure US GAAP and appropriate internal controls are followed for the business.
4. Ensure complete processes/system documentation, and develop materials for the training of finance/IT professionals on applicable financial concepts and/or applications; lead or participate in actual training sessions as a subject matter expert.
5. Accruing month-end reserves, preparing IT departmental prepaid expense amortizations, booking cross-functional expense allocations, and compiling general ledger reclasses as needed.
6. Special projects may include involvement with:
1. Miscellaneous benefits and compensation, intercompany, and elimination accounting as the need arises
2. External reporting and audit requests
3. Account reconciliations and process improvements
4. Ad-hoc project work and requests from Management

What You Bring to the Table

1. Demonstrated working knowledge of United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and financial reporting / analysis.
2. Proficiency using the Google (Sheets, Slides, Docs) and Microsoft (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) Suites, including advanced spreadsheet tools.
3. Ability to work with minimum supervision and with heavy workloads. Proven ability to complete high quality work product within established time frames. Work with ambiguous situations with little supervision.
4. Strong analytical skills with ability to validate, analyze, and sort through large amounts of data and transform complex data into succinct, clear communications.
5. Possess the ability, desire and skills necessary to interact with upper management and to advance within the organization.
6. Strong oral and written English communication skills.
