HT is an interdisciplinary research institute, created and supported by the Italian government, whose aim is to develop innovative strategies to promote human health through a multidisciplinary and integrated approach, combining genomics, computational and structural biology and neuroscience, as well as data and decision sciences.

Human Technopole is looking for a Postdoc in Soskic Research Group part of the Genomics Research Centre.

Soskic Group studies molecular mechanisms that regulate B cell activation, antibody production and their genetic variability. We use a wide range of immunological and genomic assays to study B cell biology, antibody diversity and variation in the human immune system in health and disease.

We are looking for a candidate with expertise in immunology or immunogenomics.

Your main tasks and responsibilities:

1. Leverage advanced methodologies to integrate imaging, single cell RNA-seq and deep immunoglobulin repertoire sequencing to dissect molecular mechanisms regulating B cell fate choice;
2. Develop new ideas to investigate B cell differentiation and study antibody diversification;
3. Managing data analysis within their project;
4. Generating reliable data for publication in the projects to which they are assigned and recording all data and results in specified forms (paper and electronic);
5. Publishing reproducible research;
6. Interacting and supporting other group members whenever needed;
7. Sharing and discussing research results with collaborators.

Mandatory requirements:

1. PhD in immunology, cell biology, genomics or other relevant disciplines (or PhD is going to be awarded in the next 6 months);
2. Fluency in English – HT is an international research institute and English will be the main language spoken in the lab.

Preferred requirements:

1. Experience with B cell isolation, manipulation, activation and culture;
2. Experience in imaging technologies (e.g. confocal microscopy);
3. Experience in flow cytometry;
4. Experience with genomic technologies (e.g. scRNA-seq);
5. Experience in molecular biology (e.g. CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing).

1. Strong interpersonal skills demonstrated by the ability to lead and gain the assistance and cooperation of others in a team endeavor;
2. Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment and to work independently;
3. Ability to build trust through operating with transparency and creating an open and positive environment;
4. Ability to work in a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity.
