The Mission: Solving the AI Reliability Gap

Generative AI has promised to revolutionize software development, but current "text-to-app" tools are stuck in a trap we call "Vibe Coding." They ask stochastic LLMs to write raw code from scratch, resulting in fragile, non-deterministic output that breaks the moment you touch it.

Makyo is building the solution. We are moving the industry from stochastic code generation to deterministic architectural composition.

Instead of asking AI to write React code, we constrain it to compose pre-validated, type-safe Primitives into a declarative Blueprint. Our deterministic Expansion Engine then compiles that blueprint into production-grade software. We are looking for a Senior Front-End Engineer to build this engine.

This is not a typical product role where you build buttons and forms. You are building the system that builds the buttons and forms.

You will sit at the intersection of UI Architecture, Compiler Theory, and Developer Experience. As a key architectural leader, you will own the Component Primitive Model (CPM) and the engine that hydrates JSON intent into live, high-performance React interfaces. You will drive the shift from hard-coded components to a flexible, AI-compatible system.

• 1. Architecture: The Component Primitive Model (CPM)
• Design System Strategy: Architect and maintain a library of 130+ Primitives (from atomic Buttons to complex Data Grids) based on Shadcn/Radix UI.
• Proven experience building design systems or component libraries is required.
• Immutable Identity: Enforce a strict separation of semantic logic (Props) from visual overrides (Tailwind Utility Classes) and Semantic Tokens (colors, density, radius).
• Headless Implementation: Ensure every primitive is "headless" by default, utilizing correct ARIA patterns and keyboard navigation that AI cannot break.
• Form Decoupling: Architect generic Form Container components that decouple logic from specific database tables, utilizing a data-aware Repeater architecture.
• 2. The Core Engine: Compiler & Runtime
• JIT Compilation: Develop the core runtime that takes a JSON Blueprint AST and hydrates it into a high-performance React Fiber tree.
• Component Persistence (CMP): Build the translation layers (converters) to ensure component settings are accurately parsed, validated against complex JSON schemas, and persisted to the backend.
• Smart Binding: Implement systems that allow inputs to auto-save to database rows or buffer data, solving the challenge of binding floating inputs to data contexts without "glue code."
• 3. The Builder Experience & Performance
• The "No-Code" Editor: Build the Infinite Canvas, Property Inspector, and Visual Workflow Builder, implementing complex drag-and-drop interactions (react-dnd/native API).
• Performance Optimization: Solve rendering bottlenecks using Virtualization for data-heavy views (Data Grids, Logs with 10k+ items) and preventing massive re-renders.
• State Management: Enforce scalable patterns (Pub/Sub, Provider Pattern) to manage the complex state of the editor canvas and navigator.
• Global Theme Engine: Implement a system allowing users to tweak semantic tokens that propagate instantly across the primitive library, ensuring WCAG 2.1 contrast compliance.

• Core: React 18+, TypeScript (Strict Mode).
• Styling: Tailwind CSS v4, CSS Variables, Shadcn/Radix UI.
• Architecture: Abstract Syntax Trees (AST), JSON Schema Validation, Headless UI.
• Tooling: Figma, Storybook.

You are a senior engineer who has moved beyond simply using frameworks to understanding how they work internally.

We require a minimum of 7-8 years of senior-level React/TypeScript development experience.

TypeScript Wizardry: You use generics, conditional types, and inference to create rigid APIs that make invalid states unrepresentable.

System Thinker: You understand the difference between Imperative code ("do this") and Declarative configs ("be this"), and why the latter is essential for AI.

Performance Obsessed: You understand React reconciliation, memoization, and why a "Tree View" with 5,000 nodes needs a different approach than a static list.

Data Structure Expert: You have a proven ability to work with and validate complex, nested JSON schemas for UI configuration.

Design System Native: You are fluent in Figma for interpreting complex UI specs and rely on Storybook for testing primitives in isolation.

AI-Forward: You are familiar with AI-assisted development (Cursor, Claude, etc.) and interested in integrating AI output into live application builders.

• Experience building Low-Code/No-Code tools, IDEs, or WYSIWYG editors.
• Background in Compiler Design or working with ASTs (Babel, SWC).
• Healthy skepticism of current AI code generation tools.
