Job summary
A leading IT services provider in Greater London seeks an experienced IT Support Engineer to join their fully onsite team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Managed Service Provider environments and be proficient in troubleshooting complex issues across various technologies. Key responsibilities include acting as an escalation point for the Service Desk, providing both onsite and remote support, and maintaining accurate technical documentation. A proactive and analytical mindset is essential for success in this fast-paced role.
Qualifications
- Experience working for a Managed Service Provider is essential.
- Strong 2nd-line troubleshooting experience required.
- Proficient with Windows 10/11, macOS, and mobile devices.
- Solid networking knowledge needed (LAN, WAN, VPN, routers, firewalls).
Responsibilities
- Act as the escalation point for advanced IT issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
- Support and maintain desktops, laptops, mobiles, and printers.
- Investigate recurring issues and implement long-term fixes.
- Provide onsite and remote support to users.

Our client, a well-established provider of IT, Telecoms and Connectivity services to businesses in the UK and internationally, is looking for an experienced IT Support Engineer to join their team in London. The ideal candidate will come from a Managed Service Provider background and be confident acting as an escalation point for the Service Desk.
In this role, you will handle complex technical issues, take ownership of troubleshooting, and work proactively to identify why problems occur and implement long‑term preventative solutions. This is a fully onsite position supporting a wide range of users and technologies.
- Act as the escalation point for advanced IT issues from the Service Desk
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex hardware, software and networking issues
- Support and maintain desktops, laptops, mobiles, printers and network equipment
- Investigate recurring issues, identify root causes and implement long‑term fixes
- Provide both onsite and remote support to users of varying technical levels
- Maintain accurate ticket notes and produce clear technical documentation
- Stay up to date with technologies used across client environments
- Experience working for a Managed Service Provider is essential
- Strong 2nd‑line troubleshooting experience
- Skilled with Windows 10/11, macOS and mobile devices
- Solid networking knowledge (LAN, WAN, VPN, routers, firewalls)
- Experience using Intune or similar MDM solutions
- Excellent communication and customer‑service skills
- Proactive, analytical mindset with the ability to work independently
- PowerShell or other scripting experience is a bonus
- Ability to pass an enhanced DBS check
