Older People Care Unit are looking to recruit a Band 6 Clinical Lead for Blossomwood - the role will be initially on Kingfisher Ward but will move to our new 10 bedded Dove Ward opening in Autumn 2025.
Kingfisher Ward is an 18 bedded, inpatient ward for the specialised assessment and treatment of patients who present with behaviours that challenge and who have an organic diagnosis. Kingfisher Ward primarily meet the needs of people over 65 but will be accessible to people with a diagnosis of working age dementia.
We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, forward thinking and motivated Clinical Lead with experience or invested interest in working with our patient group. You will have a sound knowledge and understanding of the mental health, person centred care, physical health and social needs relating to this patient group.
We are seeking to recruit someone who has the relevant knowledge and skills to provide clinical leadership to the ward's multidisciplinary team. You will be a visible point of contact to junior staff requiring clinical guidance, expertise and support in the delivery of high-quality, person centred and compassionate care.
It is essential that you are able to work flexible hours over 24-hour period 7 days a week as this post also incorporates Senior Nurse duties at Blossomwood.
Applicants should have excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving skills, be able to work alongside existing team manager and have the personal characteristics to assist in leading a strong, experienced and supportive team in a challenging and rewarding environment.
Applicants must display a considerable degree of initiative, maintain a calm, friendly and efficient manner when dealing with patients, carers, colleagues and visitors.
Applicants must be a Registered Mental Health or Learning Disabilities Nurse and have substantial experience at Band 5.
They will be required to apply a high degree of confidentiality and professionalism to their work.

If you are looking for an exciting and challenging opportunity to work alongside the Ward Manager and other Clinical Leads to develop our inpatient ward vision then we would like to hear from you.
You will need to demonstrate the necessary role modelling qualities in line with Trust Values to promote high standards of care, positive ward culture and contribute to service development and transformation.
You will be expected to provide clinical and managerial supervision and appraisal systems for a group of staff as well as maintaining your own continuing professional development. You will be expected to deputise in absence of Ward Manager and support the Ward Manager in maintaining effective team working processes including e-rostering, sickness and attendance management, clinical audit and PAD.
Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment.
You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. An annual fee of £16 per year applies.
