Job description

If you are an experienced Veterinary Surgeon looking for a place where you feel appreciated and part of a team, or if you want to regain your passion for the career you spent so long training for, Nottingham Chilwell is your match!

About Us
We are a gold ISFM practice and a silver RWAF practice, awarded an ACE award (Aspiring Clinical Excellence) from Vets for Pets. We have exotic certificate holders and see a varied caseload. We also dip our toe into acupuncture and are a fear-free practice.

We genuinely care for our staff and prioritize their wellbeing. Last year, we had a personal trainer for the whole team, which was great fun! We are always looking for novel ways to support our staff wellbeing and create a relaxed atmosphere, so ideas are always welcomed.

Our location is great, just 20 minutes from Nottingham and Derby city centre, close enough to enjoy the outdoors of the Peak District. Attenborough Nature Reserve is on our doorstep, and there is plenty of retail therapy. Rail and air travel are also nearby.

We enjoy plenty of social activities, whether it’s dining out one week or swimming in lakes the next! We also attend CPD events together, which usually includes a shopping trip!

About You

  • An experienced veterinary surgeon
  • Passion for small animal general practice
  • Enjoys working on interesting cases
  • Enjoys providing pet care advice to owners during preventative healthcare appointments
  • Good team member who works well with other vets and veterinary nurses
  • Certificate funding will be considered
  • Full & part-time hours considered

Full-time hours would be 9am - 6pm, 4 days a week, with one day off a week and 1 in 3 Saturday mornings from 9am - 12pm. The team works together to ensure we leave on time, and little overtime is required (any overtime is paid). We are also able to consider part-time candidates.

Our Benefits for You:

  • A competitive salary (DOE/FTE)
  • Weekly fruit basket
  • 20% off at Pets at Home and the Vet Group
  • 2 pets vaccinated yearly (free of charge to you!)
  • Staff wellbeing events
  • Group CPDs
  • 1 week extra holiday after 2 years’ service

If you'd like any further information about this vacancy, the practice, or our company, please contact our Talent Acquisition team via email at EastVets@vets4pets.com for an informal and confidential conversation.

Alternatively, you can submit your application directly to us now, and someone will be in touch with you to discuss this further. We look forward to hearing from you!

Location: NG9 6DS

We are an Equal Opportunities Employer!
