You Should Preferably Also Have (desirable)The Junior Clinical Fellow tier has sixteen doctors who work on a rolling rota, split into 80% clinical ‘shop floor’ shifts and 20% non-clinical professional development days, averaging 42.7 hours per week. There are two weeks of night shifts in a 16 week rota cycle, split into three or four night blocks, and also seven weekends worked per 16 week cycle.
Professional development days can be used for teaching, audit, research, quality improvement work, exam revision, personal study, or any other appropriate activity agreed with your consultant supervisor. The department has a strong record in junior fellows submitting abstracts, posters and oral presentations to national and international conferences as a result of their quality improvement work.
