We are inviting applications to clinical fellow posts in the Critical Care department at King’s College Hospital (the department covers both the Denmark Hill and Princess Royal University Hospital sites; shortlisted candidates are asked to express a preference at interview). The successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain experience of working in a large tertiary critical care department under the mentorship of consultants with a range of tertiary hospital sub specialist interests.
The successful applicants will be assigned to one of 7 critical care units (6 based at the Denmark Hill site in South London, with a further 1 unit based at the Princess Royal University Hospital in Bromley), where they will work as part of the team of 8-9 resident doctors. The residents are responsible for the day-to-day management of patients on the critical care unit, under the supervision of a consultant intensivist.
This post is designed to provide experience in critical care to doctors who are familiar with the NHS and are considering pursuing a career in Intensive Care Medicine. Previous experience of working in critical care is not essential.
