Transport Planner – 2 Years Experience Required – Southport – Permanent Role

Salary: £28,000

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 07:30-16:30 (1 Hour Lunch)

Silver Arrow require a Transport Planner to work for our client based in the Southport area. This client specialises in providing efficient and reliable waste management solutions, tailored specifically to garages of all sizes. They offer comprehensive services to collect, recycle, and safely dispose of various waste materials throughout the UK.

Your Role:

1. Oversee the day-to-day planning of transport – pallet distribution – HGV2 vehicles.
2. Plan efficient and cost-effective routes for waste collection and delivery, considering factors like traffic, distances, and vehicle capacity.
3. Ensure all waste transportation activities comply with relevant environmental regulations, safety standards, and licensing requirements.
4. Communicate with drivers, providing route instructions, addressing issues, and ensuring timely and safe transportation of waste.
5. Seek ways to minimise transportation costs by optimising routes and load utilisation.
6. Liaise with internal teams and external customers to provide accurate updates on delivery schedules and address any issues that may arise.

What we need from you:

1. Proven experience in transport planning.
2. Previous experience in pallet distribution.
3. Previous experience in waste (preferred, not essential).
4. Excellent organisational and record-keeping skills.
5. Knowledge of UK transport regulations, including tachograph and WTD compliance.
6. Attention to detail.
7. Ability to use initiative.
8. Good problem-solving abilities/skills.
9. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and transport management systems.
10. Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and prioritise workloads.
