Job description

Our client, an Insurance company that specialises in Residential Insurance, requires a Trainee Insurance Broker for their busy office in Borehamwood.

THE ROLE

1. Liaising with insurers to get the best policy for the client meeting their demands and needs.
2. Calling small business to see what their insurance needs are.
3. Providing advice, recommendations, and quotes to new clients.
4. Lead generation including cold calling and information gathering.
5. Self-generating new business leads and obtaining accurate information for our databases.
6. Administration; creating quotation documents for yourself and others, setting up client records, issuing documents to clients, checking proposal forms, diary management and so forth.
7. Ensure that the sales process is completed and compliant with the regulatory framework.
8. Liaising with prospect clients / leads and closing the sale effectively.
9. Working towards your Cert CII qualification.

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

1. Self-motivated to keep generating new business.
2. Experience within an office environment or retail experience, ideally the insurance industry.
3. A pleasant, confident telephone manner.
4. An effective communicator, both written and verbal, with an ability to communicate clearly & confidently to clients and colleagues.
5. Highly organised with a systematic approach to work.
6. Good attention to detail.
7. Tenacious with presenting strong sales techniques and skills.
8. Motivated and driven to achieve team and individual targets.
9. Able to develop and sustain positive working relationships with internal and external parties.
10. Familiarity with the Microsoft Office suite of programs.
