We have an exciting opportunity for a Trade Finance Analyst to join our newly established but already well recognised and growing team. This is a 9 month fixed term contract opportunity.
The role will support the Trade Finance Team with all tasks, including but not limited to analysing commercial deals to decide on feasibility of financial support, preparing approval forms, filing documents, designing and maintaining databases, dashboards and reports, liaising with other administration functions across the group to issue or to receive a trade finance instrument or PCG, including Risk and Business Units.
The role is based out of our central London office (close to Marble Arch) with 3-days per week based within the office. #LI-CET
What you’ll be doing:
Maintain paper-based archive and digital database of trade finance instruments and PCGs/Reporting
Creating physical archive of trade finance instruments and PCGs and a list of references
Assisting with design and maintaining digital database of the trade finance instruments and PCGs – daily updates required
Designing, implementing and maintaining reports/dashboards for SLT on trade finance data
Producing reports for Senior Management including KPIs
Ad-hoc analysis and query investigation of data.
Assist with Facilitation of digital developments
Actively participate in Trade Finance team activities in relation to designing digital solution(s) for administrating trade finance instruments.
BAU responsibilities
Prepare necessary forms for approvals required for trade finance instruments and liaising with FI to process the requests
Reaching out to various internal functions and businesses to obtain approvals on time while monitoring deadlines for final submission to a financial institution
Monitoring existing credit limits with FIs and liaising with Group Treasury to promptly exchange data on all transactions
Gathering and collating data for limits forecast for Group Treasury
Reconciliation of data with banks, (including fees) and liaising internally to prepare data for auditors
Filing all forms and approvals for audit records
Alerting Trade Finance Team and all related functions in case of issues/delay with obtaining approvals
Pre-deal checks and initial drafting and discussions of all trade finance instruments (LCs and guarantees) where relevant ICC and other rules are applicable, advising business units on TF instruments
Maintaining up to date documentation library of active Trade Finance products
Supporting development and feasibility studies of the financial instruments to enhance cash flow in close cooperation with CE and Group Treasury.
We have a few must-haves:
Experience of having undertaken a role with trade finance in a bank or trading house
High level knowledge of commodity house activities
Advanced level and strong knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Visio, Power BI, SharePoint), coding skills are desired.
Tech-savvy, curious about technologies and willing to help to advance digital solutions for the team bringing ideas to the pool
Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines, time management skills, ability to prioritise tasks
Strong numerical skills with key attention to detail
Effective communication and sense of accountability and ownership of deliverables.
