Job description

Osteotec are searching for Sales Associates across England to join our growing Spine sales team.

Brief Role Description: The Sales Associate is responsible for supporting the sales team in achieving the company’s objectives of increasing sales, profit and market share in the designated territory.

With the guidance of the Sales Manager and the Territory Sales Managers, the Sales Associate is responsible for working in collaboration with the field sales function to cover and support cases, as well as other related activities that contribute to the positive growth of the business across the designated region.

The Sales Associate is responsible as part of the team for providing clinical support and building relationships with customers.

The Sales Associate is provided with product, procedure and all appropriate training to enable you to undertake tasks in the hospital environment and build your experience.

Key responsibilities:

  • To take increasing levels of responsibility for supporting the Territory Sales Managers (TSMs) in promoting and demonstrating a range of orthopaedic products into the NHS and private hospitals.
  • To support the TSMs in achieving their sales results in line with their monthly and annual sales target and KPI metrics.
  • Learn anatomical structures, acronyms, clinical and surgical procedures to be able to demonstrate medical equipment within the theatre and clinical environment in line with company expectations.
  • Learn the orthopaedic market, macro and micro environment, customers and competitors in line with company expectations.
  • Support the TSMs in conducting trials and evaluations of product in theatre and clinical environment to drive sales.
  • Ensure safe and effective use of the company’s technology.
  • Provide outstanding customer service to existing customers and during all activities related to the acquisition of new customers.
  • Provide ongoing market information to the TSMs to ensure an effective sales business plan.
  • Assist the TSMs in the management of all resources and materials in their related sales area, including the effective management of consignment stock in all hospitals.
  • Maintain and build relationships with key customers and decision makers including orthopaedic surgeons, surgical theatre staff, hospital administration & procurement with the goal of achieving the commercial objectives of the organisation, whilst at all times promoting the positive image of the company to the customer.
  • Take increasing responsibility for organising and conducting training workshops with participation from surgical & theatre staff.
  • Additional responsibilities as directed by National Sales Manager.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with key opinion leaders in the designated territory.
  • Conducts business activities in compliance with ethics and legal requirements.
  • Liaise with other company functions to ensure achievement of corporate objectives.
  • 80%+ of your time in theatre environment.
  • Commitment to ongoing personal and professional development by keeping up to date with company products, competitors, and latest developments in the industry.

  • A demonstrable interest in orthopaedic sales, as proven by previous shadowing experience, internships or exposure to this industry during academic studies.

EDUCATION

EXPERIENCE

  • Commercial experience/sales achievement following graduation is preferred.
  • Proven sales, account management and business development experience preferred.
  • Track record of consistently achieving sales and targets.
  • Medical device sales experience or shadowing preferred.
  • Background in a clinical field related to orthopaedics, or with an outstanding understanding of anatomy and physiology preferred.
