Technical Operations Manager - South East/London

Location: London

Salary: Competitive salary, London location allowance (if applicable), potential 15% bonus, £6,809 car allowance per annum

Leave: 22.5 days annual leave plus bank holidays

Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week

We have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Operations Manager to join our team at Royal Mail PFSL to lead and manage first line engineering managers within London and the South East region.

The role: As Technical Operations Manager, you’ll have accountability for the successful delivery of the operational profit & loss for multiple Engineering Disciplines (M&E, Fire & Security, Fabric and Street Furniture), ensuring customer satisfaction and contract performance measures are exceeded.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, motivate, support and develop a team of Technical Service Managers, ensuring adherence to people management processes and a culture of performance management.
• Act as a proactive member of the FM Management team, leading product-wide improvement programmes and ensuring consistent rollout of company programmes.
• Undertake the lead role on all customer Technical Services escalations and critical events, ensuring regular updates and remedial plans are communicated to stakeholders.
• Work effectively with Regional and National union representatives to deliver necessary business changes.
• Be available for managerial escalation out of hours call out rota as required.

About you:

• A relevant technical qualification at or above NVQ level 5 and/or a minimum of 5 years operational experience at a relevant leadership level within a building services environment.
• Experience of P&L management, with a proven history of effective cost management and margin achievement.
• Experience of leading, supporting, managing and developing a team of Technical Managers, including performance management and employee relations issues.
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to review and analyze performance data, P&L information, etc.
• Strong influencing and presentation skills, with the ability to create and deliver effective reports and presentations.
• Excellent knowledge of Health, Safety and Compliance legislation relating to the building services industry.
• Experience in developing relationships with Trade Unions.
