What Will I be doing?

Reporting to the Services and Solution manager, the Engineering focal role will work within the IS team to support the implementation of all Engineering/IS projects or new digital initiatives as assigned within the UK and Asia region. This person will provide support for servers, middleware, and databases and will work with other IS groups to industrialize proven technology which includes building servers, installing applications, or provisioning in the cloud to meet the business needs or project specific deliverables. The role holder will act as the IS technical resource for related projects as assigned by IS Management.

Responsibilities:

1. Support IS Technical Projects with a focus on Engineering
2. Work as part of the project team to deliver assigned projects
3. Responsible for preparing required technical documentation
4. Support the preparation of presentations around project proposals & feasibilities and provide IS project status updates to the PMO and IS Management
5. Build Server Infrastructure:
1. Creating servers including build of OS and services for Windows
2. Configuring, maintaining and monitoring Windows servers
3. Ensuring compliance to all security regulations or standards during builds
4. Rack physical equipment
5. Install SQL Server
6. Creation and maintenance of databases
6. Support/Administrative:
1. Act as L2 and in some cases L3 support for IS infrastructure/Systems/Platforms
2. Diagnosing, troubleshooting, root cause analysis and providing resolution to complex problems, recommending improvements to avoid re-occurrence of the same problem
3. Contribute to the maintenance and administration of data centre hardware performing changes, support and decommissioning of servers when requested
4. Developing scripts to automate repetitive daily administration tasks and customized scripts for resolving incidents and problems to prevent recurrence
5. Participating in the 'On-Call' rotation with other IS personnel

Job Requirements

Required:

5. Working knowledge of various Windows Server Operating systems
6. Experience with Monitoring tool solutions
7. Documentation Skills (Specifically related to IS projects)

11. Time Management skills
12. SQL Server

Preferred:

1. ITIL Foundations Certification or similar
2. Skill in Microsoft Office product suite, including PowerPoint, Excel & Word
3. Knowledge of aerospace business
4. Basic understanding of VMWare, NetApp and Citrix
5. Basic understanding in various IT/IS disciplines, technologies, and platforms (Infrastructure, databases and mobility)
6. Knowledge of French Language is a plus
