Please note we are not able to offer sponsorship for this role and therefore will not be able to progress any candidates who require a certificate of sponsorship to work in the UK.

We have exciting plans for our Care in the Home business in Wotton under Edge and we would like to hear from experienced, highly motivated, and proactive Support Workers with a full driving licence due to the remote location of the client. This is a zero contract with regular shifts once assigned to a client to enable continuity of care.

You will attend our sector leading 2 week induction which will include staying away from home for 5 days. We will cover the cost of travel and accommodation. During this time you will have both face to face training with our clinicians and complete online courses to ensure you fully understand your role and are confident with ongoing support afterwards.

Our Clients:

Our care in the home services support children, young people and adults with a wide range of conditions, including: brain injury, spinal cord injury, neurological conditions and neurodegenerative diseases, respiratory conditions and gastro-intestinal conditions, including percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG) feeding.

We don’t just look after the clinical needs of the people we support. We look after the whole person, and we pride ourselves on the fact our care extends beyond the individual to their wider family and friends, as we understand the wider impact complex conditions can have.

What you will be working:

  • Up to 10 hour shifts

What you will be doing:

  • Assist the client to exercise choice and control over their own lives as far as they are able in everyday matters as much as possible
  • Liaise with and support the family as required
  • Assist the client to ensure an adequate level of hygiene is maintained (including washing, dressing and toileting)
  • Supporting the client to use local amenities such as shops and leisure facilities and attend community events
  • Follow the service user plan as documented for the client
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records
  • Participate in manual handling procedures as specified for the client

What you will have:

  • A genuine interest in providing the best person-centred care possible
  • Previous experience of working with individuals with a spinal injury is desirable but not essential as full training will be given
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to learn and develop
  • Successful candidates will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS check

What to look forward to:

  • From £12.25 to £12.50 per hour (depending on experience)
  • Full specialist training, shadow shifts, and ongoing support from the Care Manager provided
  • Regular consistent work with rolling rotas
  • Join the Active Learning Hub and benefit from a wide range of e-learning and face-to-face training and development opportunities
  • We recognise outstanding Active Behaviours via the Active Awards programme
  • Refer a Friend Scheme and earn yourself up to £1,500 by recommending someone you know
  • and, of course, the support and guidance of our qualified clinical and business leadership teams so that you can really develop your career with Active Care Group

Active Care Group is an equal opportunities employer; however, for genuine occupational requirements, we require female support workers for this client.
