Role

We are looking for candidates who have experience of working with women with complex social needs. You will be working as part of Another Way, a service that works with women involved in or at risk of selling or exchanging sex. The role will have a focus on providing outreach to women who are street-based and working indoors, as well as providing one-to-one support.

You must have experience of providing assertive outreach to ‘hard-to-reach’ groups, as well as an excellent understanding of the support needs of women involved in transactional sex. You will need to be an effective communicator, highly organised and have effective casework management skills. It is essential that support provided is non-judgmental and respects the wishes of the women we engage with.

You will work closely with other partners and agencies and be expected to ensure the continued development of good partnership working. Experience of working with women involved in transactional sex is desirable.

Membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme is a requirement for this post.

Sacro values diversity and welcomes applications from all sections of the community.

Do you believe in second chances? Do you have the energy and commitment it takes to support someone to turn their life around?

We need a dedicated individual to forge strong relationships with people who are or who have been in police custody in the Fife area. Using a trauma-informed approach, you will work with people of all ages and from every walk of life, supporting them in making positive changes.

You must be a skilled communicator who has an ability to connect with people facing a challenging range of issues. A team player, you will work closely with partners across Fife to achieve the right outcomes for those we’re supporting. Often the people you encounter will be at a low point in their lives so you must be able to show empathy and forge a connection during that ‘reachable moment’, then back it up with the ability to create strong, trusting relationships which support people to access the help they need.

If people describe you as level-headed, a listener, compassionate, patient, a great communicator, hard worker, resilient, dedicated, great in a crisis - and you have the energy and commitment to always go the extra mile to support people effectively then we would like to hear from you.

The role requires occasional evening work and to be part of a rota to support individuals in police custody on a Sunday, followed up with community outreach support during the week.

Applicants must have a full driving licence and access to a car satisfying the appropriate insurance requirements.

Membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme is a requirement for the post.

  • Remote: Remote working across Scotland and with occasional travel to London
