Job Title: Stress Engineer
Working Pattern: Full time
Location: Derby, Bristol or Glasgow
An exciting opportunity has arisen within Rolls-Royce as we seek to recruit Stress Engineers to join our Team. This role will be known internally as a Mechanical Integrity Engineer.
Mechanical Integrity Engineers ensure the integrity of our products. They predict the mechanical behaviour of components, sub-systems and the whole assemblies, supporting the Design function, taking into account various failure mechanisms (e.g. proof, ultimate, fatigue (low & high cycle), creep etc.) and contributing factors (e.g. vibration, thermal induced loads, inherent manufacturing anomalies, corrosion, extreme operating conditions). They predict the life of critical rotating components and validate them during development and service operation. In addition, they model and validate the mechanical and vibrational behaviour of the whole engine system.
The role of a Mechanical Integrity Engineer is expected to influence all stages in the design cycle (to ensure designs are robust, meet requirements and are optimised) through to the product's service life and to component disposal.
What we offer
We offer excellent development opportunities, a competitive salary, and exceptional benefits. These include bonus, employee support assistance, and employee discounts.
