The role requires someone with strong stakeholder management skills coupled with commercial awareness and data analysis. Reporting to our UK&I Strategy Director, you'll help develop and maintain the AXA UK&I strategy and deliver key strategic initiatives. This includes identifying and recommending opportunities to improve market position, profitability and competitive advantage, by monitoring and analysing competitors, market trends, and the broader external and internal environment.

This is a great opportunity to work with senior stakeholders across AXA UK&I and Group, and to get visibility of AXA UK&I's key projects, priorities and challenges to get a better understand of the whole business. You'll work with the Group Strategy and European Markets teams on broad and dynamic projects dealing with complex and varying cases.
At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least 40% of your week away from home, moving to the majority of your working week from September 2025. Away from home means either attendance at our London office, visiting clients or attending industry events.

What you'll be doing:
  • Helping to deliver our first Board Strategy Day and CEO Dialogue.
  • Supporting the AXA UK&I CEO in their interactions with the Group CEO and Management Committee.
  • Delivery of our half-yearly competitor benchmarking and analysis.
  • Support the development, ongoing refinement and execution tracking of AXA UK&I's strategy, including running the annual strategy process and identifying and monitoring key priorities and objectives.
  • Lead and deliver high-impact strategic initiatives and analysis on strategic projects.
  • Deliver strategic analysis, insights and ad-hoc requests including for the Board, CEO, Management Committee and Group.
  • Work collaboratively with Business Units (BUs), support functions, and Group Strategy teams to deliver strategic projects.
  • Lead, coach and support more junior team members.
What you'll bring:
  • Ability to communicate complex information clearly and succinctly.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, able to build relationships, partner and influence at different levels across the business, to create buy-in and help drive solutions.
  • Analytical and critical thinking skills, ability to think strategically, solve complex problems and comfortable with quantitative, qualitative and financial analysis.
  • Good organisation and planning skills and good commercial acumen.
  • Intellectually curious, proactive and able to work with ambiguity.
  • A great team player, and able to support more junior team members.
  • Experience in consulting, in-house strategy or finance and/or strong commercial knowledge of the insurance industry is preferable.
