Social Worker Senior Practitioner within Children's Specialist Support Team

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual for the role of Social Work - Senior Practitioner within the Children's Specialist Support Team in the vibrant town of Bracknell. What you will do:

  1. Work as a member of the Social Care Team, contributing to a care management service that ensures children's voices are heard.
  2. Operate within the framework of relevant legislation and deliver services in line with departmental policies and guidelines.
  3. Advocate for the protection and safeguarding of children and young people.
  4. Manage a caseload, providing assessment, care planning, intervention, and family support in line with your expertise.
  5. Assess and identify the needs of referred children and families, designing service delivery plans to meet these needs effectively.
  6. Collaborate with partner agencies, both voluntary and statutory, to coordinate services that align with care plans for children and families.
  7. Participate in a team duty rota to address child protection concerns.
  8. Efficiently manage your workload, prioritising tasks effectively.
  9. Engage in regular supervision to set clear objectives and intervention strategies with your Supervisor.
  10. Monitor and evaluate casework, notifying the Supervisor of any resource shortfalls.
  11. Maintain accurate case records and comply with departmental procedures, ensuring information security.
  12. Encourage listening to children at every opportunity, documenting and acting upon their views appropriately, and completing life journey work with children and young people.
  13. Work towards the organisation's ASPIRE priorities, which include respecting timeliness, smart planning, purposeful family visits, impactful assessments, reflective supervision, and consistent child engagement.
  14. Ensure access to translation and interpretation services where necessary.
  15. Contribute to service development for children and families by actively participating in team meetings.
  16. Provide cover for team members and perform additional duties as required, which may vary based on experience and competencies.
  17. Support the development of others by delivering training and coaching sessions.
  18. Aid in the assessment and support of students, newly qualified social workers, and Family Workers.
  19. Provide purposeful, reflective supervision to social work students and Family Workers.
  20. Work with families facing higher levels of need and complexity.

Minimum Requirements:

Candidates must hold a BSc/MA in Social Work or equivalent, with Social Work England Registration (or currently in process).
