Qualifications

  • Experience in health and safety legislation including PUWER, LOLER, COSHH.

Job description

Post Title: Senior Technician
Site Location: Fairfield Halls – Croydon
Salary: £36,750 per annum (from 1 April 25)
Get out rate: £41.19 per hour
Hours: 2085 hours per annum, annualised hours (Equivalent to 40 hours per week)

The role:

BH Live is recruiting for two Senior Technicians to join our technical team at Fairfield Halls in Croydon. Fairfield Halls is an iconic arts, events and conference venue, which hosts a year-round programme of events including concerts, cultural performances, musicals and plays, conferences and exhibitions, business events, retail catering and banquets.

You will:
  1. Lead on the safe get-in, operation and get-out of all productions and events.
  2. Design, set up, manage, and operate on events and productions as required by technical management, including, but not limited to Staging, Lighting, Sound and AV, and according to the requirements of the production or event.
  3. Liaise with productions and events as designated by the Technical Manager.
  4. Supply training to colleagues to ensure the safe operation of all technical equipment and stage engineering equipment.
To be successful you will need:
  1. A sound understanding of networking principles, setup, and equipment in relation to IT, Sound, Lighting and AV systems.
  2. Knowledge of rigging and safe working practices.
  3. Experience in the management of health and safety and knowledge of current legislation inc PUWER, LOLER, COSHH.
  4. The ability to organise and execute the planned and reactive maintenance of staging, loose theatrical equipment and facilities according to legislation and guidelines.
  5. To work at heights.

Due to the nature of the industry, you must be able to work evenings, nights, weekends and bank holidays.
