Job description

Brayleys are a multi-franchise vehicle dealership network representing Honda, Hyundai, Nissan, Honda Motorcycles, Mazda, Kia, Renault, Suzuki and Dacia with branches across London, The Thames Valley, The Home Counties, The West Midlands & Greater Manchester. Our professional sales and service teams strive to give the best possible service in the purchase and maintenance of your new or used car and we aim to provide complete customer satisfaction.

Above all, Brayleys is a family business. Paul Brayley started work as an apprentice automobile technician at the age of 16. Now as Managing Director, he’s had experience at all levels over his 40+ year career.

Needless to say, Paul knows the car business inside out, and it’s his dynamic energy and no-compromise approach to customer focus that has expanded the group from humble beginnings in 2003, to the successful business of today.

Now, another family business, the Dubai-based conglomerate AW Rostamani, has become part of Brayleys through their recent major stakeholder investment. From their first, small-scale business venture in 1954, the Rostamani family now run a multi-billion dollar conglomerate through having remained committed to enriching lives through exceptional products and services. Also with significant experience and expertise in the car industry, they’re the ideal partners to power Brayleys forward in the future.

We have exciting growth opportunities in the years ahead with the expansion of our existing network, investment in staff development as well as exploring new brand opportunities. This drive and vision has reinforced our passion and determination to give our valued customers the widest choice, the highest quality cars and the best possible customer service.

Our customers really are at the heart of everything we do.

“It's our stated policy to treat every visitor to Brayleys as a welcomed guest in our home... Every day. Every time. Without fail. No exceptions”

Job Description

The Role

We are seeking a qualified Master Technician to join Brayleys Cars Limited’s Honda dealership in Hendon. It’s a fast-paced environment where you will be part of the team reporting to the Aftersales Manager. You’ll be putting your technical expertise to great use with work ranging from routine service and maintenance to solving complex technical problems.

You’ll be joining an expanding business that represents Nissan, KIA, Mazda, Honda Passenger Cars, Honda Motorcycles, Hyundai, Renault, Dacia and Suzuki across London, The Home Counties, The Thames Valley, The West Midlands and the Greater Manchester area.

Unusually for our industry, the structure and workflows across our businesses mean that we can offer this role with NO REQUIRMENT FOR WEEKEND WORKING.

In addition to this fantastic benefit we are able to offer the following comprehensive benefits:

  • Weekends off to spend time with your family, friends and loved ones
  • An un-capped bonus scheme with very high earning potential
  • Minimum of 31 days holiday per year, increasing to 34 days with length of service rewards.
  • State of the art tooling and workshop facilities
  • Preferential rates on new and used vehicles, parts purchases and servicing across all our franchises.
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Group Contributory pension scheme
  • Career development opportunities and career progression
  • In-house and manufacturer training
  • Enhanced maternity leave after a qualifying period
  • Independently certified as a Great Place to Work

With NO REQUIREMENT FOR WEEKEND WORKING, what does a typical weekday look like for one of our workshop technicians?

Typically, on any given weekday you’ll be:

  • Completing scheduled vehicle servicing in line with manufacturer guidelines
  • Undertaking diagnostic activities to identify causes and solutions for customer vehicle issues
  • Conducting electronic visual health checks (eHVC) on all vehicles and provide a comprehensive report with expert advice and recommendations for customers
  • Liaising directly with customers and service advisors, providing outstanding customer service
  • Ensuring vehicle servicing activities are completed in a safe and high-quality manner, in line with both internal and manufacturer requirements
  • Participating in ongoing training and development to ensure product and service knowledge is up to date

What sort of skills and experience do you need to work in one of our workshops?

Ideally, you will be a certified level 3 Technician, with a full UK driving licence, ideally with at least 2 years’ experience in this or a similar brand, although this isn't essential. In addition to your prior experience, you will be able to demonstrate the following skills:

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail
  • A strong customer service focus with the ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience
  • Outstanding organisation and time management skills with the ability to work to deadlines
  • A commitment to the Brayleys Guiding Principal of treating all visitors to our business, as they would a valued guest in our own homes

What if I am not qualified to that level?

If a Master technician qualification isn’t quite your background, but you are interested in getting to that level in the automotive repair industry, please do still get in touch with us as we have plenty of apprenticeship opportunities available for you to start your career.
