Location: Near Ipswich, Suffolk
Salary: £38,000 – £42,000 per year (depending on experience)
Hours: 43 hours per week (flexibility required, including weekends)

Are you a passionate Senior Sous Chef looking to take the next step in your career? We are seeking an experienced and dedicated professional to join our client, a renowned wedding venue near Ipswich, delivering outstanding cuisine to match the exceptional events.

About the Role:

As Senior Sous Chef, you will work closely with the talented Head Chef, leading the kitchen team to create memorable, high-quality dining experiences for weddings and private events. You will ensure the smooth operation of the kitchen, maintaining the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and hygiene.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Assist the Head Chef in menu planning and execution to 2 Rosette standard
  2. Lead and mentor the kitchen team, ensuring consistency and excellence
  3. Oversee food preparation, stock control, and kitchen hygiene compliance
  4. Work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced, event-driven environment
  5. Maintain flexibility in working hours, including weekends, as weddings and events take priority
The Ideal Candidate:
  1. Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a high-quality restaurant or event catering (2 Rosette standard preferred)
  2. Passionate about fresh, seasonal, and beautifully presented dishes
  3. A strong leader with excellent organisation and communication skills
  4. Able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
  5. Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations
