This is an exciting opportunity to join a new opening and become part of a skilled kitchen team. We are seeking an experienced Junior Sous to join our team. The restaurant is a small plate dining concept, whereby we'll need a candidate who can work under pressure and be adept at preparing delicious meals in a fast-paced environment.
Opening hours are Wednesday-Sunday.
Competitive salary of £35,000 per annum.
Responsibilities
Work alongside Head Chef with new dishes
Assist in meal preparation following recipes and portion guidelines
Cook and plate menu items according to set standards
Ensure food safety and hygiene practices are strictly adhered to
Collaborate with the kitchen team to maintain a smooth workflow
Help with cleaning and maintaining kitchen equipment and utensils
Skills
Proficiency in food preparation & knife skills/techniques
Knowledge of culinary terminology and techniques
5 years experience working in a restaurant
Ability to work efficiently in a high-pressure environment
Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively
Qualifications
Strong food preparation and culinary skills
Prior restaurant experience and knowledge of food safety practices
Excellent organisational and knife skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment
Leadership qualities and experience in team management are a plus
