Due to an exciting new project, an opportunity has become available for an experienced Senior Project Engineer with experience in EC&I systems who will be responsible for the management of design during the pre-construction phase then the management of installation and testing during the construction phase.
Responsibilities:- Lead a multi-disciplined EC&I Engineering Team.
- Support the project manager(s) with the definition of programmes and budgets.
- Support the Project Manager in management of Consultant and Contractors.
- Work closely with the Engineering and BIM design team.
- Support the project manager(s) with monitoring and reporting of project performance and change management.
- Support the Project Managers with budget/estimate, schedule, scope(s) of work, specifications, O&M documentation.
- Support the project optioneering process.
- Review and accept/challenge Engineering drawings and documentation.
- Manage detailed design activities in accordance with ABL and client standards.
- Carry out technical assessment/approval of contractors work instruction/method statements/risk assessments.
- Manage the procurement and delivery of equipment and materials, including the review and technical approval of specifications, purchase requisitions, acceptance criteria, supplier documentation and validation of performance.
- Provide technical supervision of construction activities to ensure compliance with design intent.
- Manage the technical query process.
- Specify and provide technical supervision of commissioning and/or decommissioning.
- Liaise and consult with stakeholders throughout project life cycle to ensure efficient and effective project delivery.
- Comply with all Environment, Health, Safety, Security and Quality policies, procedures, work instructions and risk assessments and support the continuous improvement of Health, Safety, Environment and Quality on Site.
- Chair and minute review meetings with designers and contractors.
- Preparation and delivery of engineering presentations.
- Respond to technical queries and resolve engineering problems.
- Line manage and appraise site managers and supervisors.
- Strive for efficient delivery via initiatives such as "right first time" and "fit for purpose".
- Collate, manage and report KPI data - programme, cost, change, quality.

- Project management, commercial, cost, project controls, risk.
Qualifications:- Qualification to degree level or HNC/HND with relevant experience in an EC&I Engineering discipline.
- Chartered/Incorporated Engineer status or working towards.
- 18th edition qualification (desirable).
- ATEX directive training.
- Formal H&S qualification e.g. IOSH managing safely and/or SMSTS or CCNSG.
Essential Skills and Experience:- 5 years recent experience in an equivalent role.
- Project Engineering of EC&I work packages, including office based pre-construction activities, site implementation/integration, within an industrial highly regulated environment.
- Working fully autonomously and/or as part of a team.
- Experience managing and implementing Electrical Safe Systems of Work.
- Compliance with legislation and standards in a highly regulated industry.
- Production of technical documentation e.g. technical reports, EC&I technical submissions.
- Experience coordinating the design and installation of LV Electrical systems.
- Experience coordinating the design and installation of large Switchboards and Transformers.
- Experience coordinating the design and installation of large HV & LV Buss bar systems.
- Experience coordinating the design and installation of Fire alarm systems.
- Strong PC skills - MS Office, drafting tools, document databases, specialist Engineering design tools.
- Diplomatic and considered communication traits with a range of stakeholders.
- Experience in the delivery of EHS site inductions.
Desirable Skills and Experience:- Experience coordinating the design and installation of large BMS/SCARDA systems.
- Experience coordinating the design and installation of large Data systems.
- Experience coordinating the design and installation of Security/access control systems.
- Experience as an Electrical Appointed Person.
- Experience of highly regulated sign off and witnessing procedures.
- Nuclear and/or Defence experience.
- Awareness and knowledge of EC&I interfaces with Mechanical installations.
