Senior Product Design Engineer
Location: Preston
Type: Full-time

Professional Technical is recruiting for a Senior Product Design Engineer to join a leading design firm based in Preston. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineer to lead the development of innovative products.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop detailed 3D models and technical drawings using CAD (OnShape, SolidWorks, etc.).
2. Lead the design and development process for new products from concept through to manufacturing.
3. Conduct feasibility studies, simulations, and testing to ensure products meet specifications.
4. Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are optimised for production efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
5. Manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and staying within budget.
6. Continuously improve existing products to enhance performance, aesthetics, and durability.
7. Stay up to date with the latest industry trends, materials, and technologies.
8. Contribute to process improvements for resource planning and project management.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
2. 8+ years of experience in product development, including leadership responsibilities.
3. Proficient in CAD tools such as OnShape or SolidWorks.
4. Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing methods, and prototyping.
5. Experience with FEA/CFD analysis.
6. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to think creatively in high-pressure situations.
7. Exceptional communication and team collaboration skills.
8. Portfolio demonstrating successful product launches and design impact.
