As a Senior Network Engineer your role is to deliver, review, support and optimise the network infrastructure.

What you’ll be doing

As part of your role, your responsibilities will include:

  • Configure, maintain, and monitor network equipment across multiple sites, including cloud environments. Oversee WAN, routers, firewalls, switches, load balancers, traffic optimizers, and wireless devices, both on-premises and in Azure.
  • Implement and enforce physical and virtual network security procedures to safeguard the network infrastructure.
  • Ensure all network devices are up-to-date with the latest patches and firmware.
  • Identify, troubleshoot and resolve network issues encountered by users across the organization.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Conduct R&D on new technologies and vendor products, and run Proof of Concepts (POCs) to support business requirements. Participate in a regular on-call rota to provide after-hours support for the business.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation of project scopes, network designs, and configurations.
  • Guide the team in alignment with the road map, providing mentoring and training to junior engineers and support teams.

Essential skills you’ll bring to the table

The necessary skills that we require for this role include:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and effectively.
  • Experience working collaboratively in cross-functional teams, with a focus on achieving shared goals.
  • Expertise in managing multiple projects simultaneously, with a track record of delivering on time and within scope.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring high standards of quality in all outputs.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing environments and priorities, maintaining effectiveness in dynamic situations.
  • Cisco switching and routing full command knowledge using Cisco IOS and NX-OS.
  • Nexus Switches.
  • Routing protocols – OSPF, BGP in depth.
  • Palo Alto Next Generation Firewall experience including deployment.
  • Switching Protocols – VLANs, STP, LACP, VCP, VSS.
  • Load-Balancers (F5).
  • WiFi, Setup, management and troubleshooting (Meraki).
  • VPN Technologies (GRE, IPSec, DMVPN).
  • Physical datacentre support, rack, stack, cabling as required.
  • Azure – vNet peering, Virtual WAN, express route, VPN and experience with IaaS/SaaS/PaaS.
  • Network monitoring (Solarwinds or similar).
  • Network Design and maintenance of a highly available architecture.

Desirable skills you’ve got up your sleeve

It would be great if you also have some of the following skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of sports betting markets, including odds calculation, betting types and market trends.
  • Previous experience in the online gaming or casino industry, with a strong understanding of player behaviour and industry regulations.
  • Familiarity with gambling regulations and compliance requirements in various jurisdictions, ensuring adherence to legal standards.
  • Experience in developing and executing customer retention strategies.
  • WAN Optimisation (Riverbed).
  • Software Defined Networking.
  • Scripting / Automation.
  • WAF – Cloudflare.
  • DDoS mitigation experience.
