This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced civils Estimator to join our infrastructure team, working on some of the UK's most ambitious projects. This is a national role, offering flexibility to work from one of our offices in Sale, Dartford or Oldbury.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare and submit competitive, high-quality bids for complex projects, taking full ownership of smaller bids.
  2. Utilise Digital Engineering (DE/BIM) tools and estimating software (we use Candy) to drive efficiency and consistency.
  3. Understand and drive through LORs 'Value Proposition' including self-delivery, digital engineering, and Design for Manufacture & Assembly (DfMA).
  4. Lead commercial analysis of subcontractor quotations and advise on risk, qualification, and margin considerations.
  5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Design, Commercial, Engineering, Procurement, and Digital Engineering (BIM).
  6. Mentor and support less experienced Estimators, fostering a high-performance team environment.
  7. Ensure all bids are subject to adjudication and final analysis.
  8. Ensure the consistent preparation and adherence to mandatory final settlement analysis.
  9. Engage effectively with clients and external consultants to align project objectives.
  10. Ensure compliance with internal governance processes throughout the tender process.

About You:

  1. Proven experience in estimating large-scale infrastructure or civils projects.
  2. Expertise in forecasting net prime cost, preliminary costing, and cost planning from first principles.
  3. Competent managing estimating procedures from bid preparation to post-tender negotiations.
  4. Knowledge of procurement processes and supply chain management.
  5. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  6. Highly organised, proactive, and commercially astute.
  7. Previous site experience in an engineering or commercial role is highly regarded.
  8. Higher level qualification in relevant discipline e.g. Construction Management, or Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying with progression towards professional membership (RICS, CIOB, ICE, IMechE) preferred.
  9. Willingness to be geographically mobile to support business needs.
  10. Ability to obtain BPSSclearance.
