Job description

Axcis Education in the West Midlands are seeking a full-time, long-term Teaching Assistant to support students with a range of special educational needs within a SEND school. This school is based in Stratford Upon Avon, Warwickshire.

Position: Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant
Location: Stratford Upon Avon, Warwickshire.
Start Date: March 2025
Contract: Full-time, long-term (Monday to Friday, 8:30 – 3:30)

This role pays a week in arrears (every Friday) and you will be paid via PAYE on a daily rate starting from £83.40 per day based on suitable experience and qualifications.

Axcis are looking for a compassionate and resilient individual to work closely with students who have a range of special educational needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Supporting students with a range of special educational needs, such as autism, challenging behaviour, personal care and ADHD helping them to manage their emotions and behaviour.
  2. Assisting the class teacher in creating a safe and structured learning environment.
  3. Providing 1:1 or small group support to students with special educational needs.
  4. Building strong, trusting relationships with students to help them feel safe and understood.
Requirements:
  1. Experience working alongside children with special educational needs.
  2. Patience, empathy, and resilience when dealing with difficult situations.
  3. Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  4. Relevant qualifications in education or child development are highly desirable.
  5. A passion for helping vulnerable children reach their potential.
