Job description

Axcis Education is working with an Alternative Education Provision based in Leeds who are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and resilient Behaviour Support Worker. This role is available for an immediate start and involves working with students aged 7 to 16 who have autism, social, emotional, and mental health needs, and other associated conditions. The successful candidate will have experience supporting children and young people with complex needs and will be adept at establishing positive relationships to engage and motivate students.

Responsibilities:
  1. Provide support to students in small groups or on a 1:1 basis to address learning barriers.
  2. Plan and deliver targeted interventions to help students develop new skills and build self-esteem.
  3. Adapt your approach to meet the diverse learning and emotional needs of students.
  4. Use various de-escalation techniques to assist students in crisis.
  5. Build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
  6. Maintain detailed records of student progress, attendance, engagement, and behaviour.
  7. Participate in student review meetings to ensure that support packages are effective.
Requirements:
  1. Experience supporting students with Autism and SEMH.
  2. Proficiency in using de-escalation techniques; current Team Teach certification is highly desirable.
  3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  4. Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
