Job Description:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant (TA) to join one of our supportive and vibrant schools based in Portsmouth. We have multiple full-time roles that will involve working alongside experienced teachers to provide essential support for students in various areas of their learning, ensuring a positive and inclusive educational experience for all.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons and supporting individual and small group learning activities.
- Provide targeted support for students with additional learning needs, under the guidance of the teacher.
- Help manage classroom behavior and ensure a positive and safe learning environment.
- Work closely with students to reinforce learning and encourage their social and emotional development.
- Assist with preparing classroom resources and materials.
- Support students during break times and assist with lunchtime duties.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and contribute to the school's assessment processes.
About You:
We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, proactive, and passionate about supporting children's learning. The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience working with children, ideally in an educational setting.
- A strong understanding of the needs of children with different learning abilities and backgrounds.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- A good level of literacy and numeracy skills.
- A flexible and adaptable approach to meet the changing needs of the classroom.
- A genuine passion for education and helping students achieve their full potential.
Qualifications (desirable but not essential):
- A relevant teaching assistant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or 3 TA qualification).
- First aid training (or willingness to undergo training).
